Description
Small cream and green fern dish. This beautiful dish receives it's pattern from real ferns. Live ferns are coated with glass powder and then placed under a clear piece of glass. The glass is fired in the kiln and the ferns burn away but leave there image in the glass powder which fuses to the glass. The glass is then fused onto a colored piece of glass in a second kiln firing. A third trip to the kiln creates the gentle swoop form that finishes this contemporary dish. The dish is carefully annealed in the kiln to make it as sturdy as it is beautiful.
This dish is 4 1/2 inches square and makes a lovely soap dish, candy dish, or candle dish.
