Artists’ Coalition of Flagstaff Membership Information

The mission of the Artists Coalition of Flagstaff is to encourage and promote

artistic growth and professional development of local artists and to create a

forum for the arts within the Flagstaff community through exhibits and

educational programs. Our current annual events include:

Recycled Art Exhibition - in collaboration with the City of Flagstaff, an

annual month long event open to residents of Coconino County to coincide

with Earth Day in April and filled with Saturday workshops and artist

demonstrations. An opening reception kicks of the event with awards and

family entertainment.

Spring Art Fair - a Saturday & Sunday event held early May at Coconino

Center for the Arts where artists offer their wares for sale.

Open Studios - a Saturday & Sunday event held in September at member

studios preceded by Appetizers: Prelude to the Open Studios at Coconino

Center for the Arts where each participating artist has a representative

preview piece on display.

Holiday Party and gift swap - an opportunity to socialize and meet new

members and plan for the coming year.

Benefits of Membership include:

* Participation in the above members-only sales events - the Spring Art Fair

and Open Studios; the Recycled Show is open to everyone in Coconino

County.

* Members receive the Artists’ Eye newsletter published every other month

with a calendar, call for entries, artist profiles, other news and articles by

fellow artists with free classified ads - anyone can contribute articles.

* Invitation to our annual holiday party where we have a gift swap - usually

samples of artists’ creations and a chance to socialize with others.

* Email notification via “News Between the News” of events happening

between regularly published newsletters - studio openings, First Friday

notices, call for entries.

* Linking on the Artists’ Coalition Website to your website

* A copy of the Artists’ Coalition of Flagstaff membership list (published to

coincide with Open Studios events)

* Discounts at local art supply stores and framing shops.

Monthly Board Meetings are held 1st Wednesday of the month at the CCA,

2300 N. Ft. Valley Road, Flagstaff, AZ at 6 pm.

General Public Meetings are every other month Second Wednesday starting

with a potluck dinner, a brief general meeting and a discussion, workshop or

presentation of interest to both the general public and the artist community

also at CCA starting at 6 pm, meeting at 7 pm.

Membership fees are due May 1 annually; individual $30, family $40, and

student $10

Duties & Responsibilities of Membership

Participation in one of our major events is expected of our members;

volunteer hours are a great way to meet others and have input into how our

events are organized, run and perceived by the public. We cannot ‘hire’

people to put-on our shows. Your creative input keeps things fresh, new and

exciting! Sharing the tasks takes the work load off the chair, co-chair and

committee leaders and spreads the duties fairly. It is what makes the

Coalition work. Our Board members are expected to chair an event or

actively participate in the business of the Coalition.

Promotion of the Artists Coalition and its general goals helps spread the word

and bring in new members.
